Owner request: a page on the site for moderators on how to write properly with all the appropriate tags.

/mod/guide (رہنمائی), in Urdu, open to everyone so future contributors can read it. Linked from the moderation tabs and from the editor ("لکھنے کا مکمل طریقہ").

  1. A summary table of every tag: what to write, what it means, where and how.
  2. The work header {{دیوان | …}}: title, poet or author, genre, radif, qafiya, metre, sources.
  3. Ghazal: couplets, a blank line between them, the pen-name sign ؔ. Example: the first three couplets of Hasrat Mohani's چپکے چپکے رات دن آنسو بہانا یاد ہے.
  4. Stanzas (musaddas, mukhammas, rubai). Example: Hali's musaddas.
  5. Prose: paragraphs, chapter == … == and sub-heading === … ===. Example: Muhammad Husain Azad's آب حیات (زبان اردو کی تاریخ).
  6. مطلع / حسن مطلع / مقطع labels, used only to correct the automatic ones.
  7. Dictionary links, footnotes and variant readings.
  8. Spelling and punctuation:
    • Urdu ی/ک/ہ, not Arabic ي/ك/ه, and ہ versus ھ;
    • ۔ ، ؟ ؛ and Urdu digits;
    • diacritics only where needed;
    • ZWNJ for compounds, and single spaces;
    • stay faithful to the source.
  9. Edit summaries: what changed and why, one kind of change per draft, cite the source.
  10. Review: L2 → L1 → admin, returns with reasons, L1 and admin shortcuts, the conflict rule.

Every example shows its source beside the site's own rendering, made by the same parser. The preview is now a shared component (DivanPreview), also used on the revision page; it numbers footnotes and lists them below.

All example texts are verbatim from works in Divan (Urdu Wikisource). Urdu Wikisource has no prose by Hasrat Mohani, so his ghazal is used and Azad's prose. Tags read left-to-right and Urdu right-to-left in the examples (checked in the browser).
