Owner reports: the footer is cramped in Nastaliq; the radif line overlaps the buttons above it. Owner direction: small UI elements always in Naskh, as a rule across the site.

The rule, in one place in global.css:

  • The interface is always Naskh, whichever reading font is chosen: menus, buttons, forms, breadcrumbs, the radif and source lines, the footer, search, library, account, moderation and admin pages. The body now uses --font-ui.
  • The reading font (Naskh or Nastaliq, the reader's choice) is only for the literature: verses and prose (.poem), work, book, poet and e-book titles (h1.lit), contents lists, intros, search and tag excerpts, saved couplets, e-book text, the editor and its preview, and the home page's couplets.
  • The «ایک پاکستانی کی طرف سے» line in the footer stays Nastaliq on purpose, as part of the brand.

Radif line: it had a negative top margin (−6px) that pulled it into the buttons, and Nastaliq's tall letters made it worse. Now it has a small space above it and is in Naskh.

Checked with screenshots in Nastaliq: a poem with and without a radif (phone and desktop), the footer, the home page, a poet page, a book's contents and search results.
