An editor built into the site for moderators and admins (owner direction, 2026-10-08), used by the content moderation work (#20).

Writing Urdu

RTL editing with live preview in the site's own rendering (Naskh/Nastaliq, couplet layout).
Urdu keyboard and Roman-to-Urdu typing (as in search), plus a palette for diacritics (zer, zabar, pesh, tashdeed, jazm, hamza) and marks (takhallus ؔ, ۔ ، ؟).
Structure for poetry: couplets (two misras), single lines, stanzas, paragraphs for prose; radif/matla/maqta shown as you type.
Formatting kept to what Divan renders: headings, paragraphs, emphasis, line breaks.
Clean-up helpers: Arabic letters to Urdu (ي ك ه → ی ک ہ), stray spaces and zero-width marks, digits to Urdu digits; a diff of what changed.

Bringing in existing text

Paste from Word/LibreOffice/web pages with formatting cleaned to Divan's structure.
Upload .docx, .odt and .txt files (Unicode Urdu, or any Unicode text): text and basic formatting imported, line breaks mapped to couplets/paragraphs, reviewed in the editor before saving as a draft.

Drafts go through the approval pipeline (#31). Document import is split into #33.
